Somalian-born, Canadian-based hip-hop artist K’Naan has spoken about the “unity and celebration” that will connect with his song “Wavin’ Flag,” after it was chosen as the official anthem of Coca-Cola’s 2010 FIFA World Cup program. K’Naan has specially recorded a version of the song for the tournament, hosted by South Africa. The remix of “Wavin’ Flag” is part of Coca-Cola’s global integrated marketing campaign “inspired by the joyous dance celebrations familiar to Africa.”
The track will be used as the music element throughout the entire campaign, including as the soundtrack for all television commercials, during the trophy tour.

The Ferocity with which NFL fans follow their beloved sport never ceases to amaze.
One of the few NFL events fans can attend for free is the NFL Draft, which Radio City Music Hall in New York hosted on Saturday, April 26. The thousand or so free tickets are handed out on a first-come basis.
The first fan, Billy Walsh from Rockaway Beach, N.Y., got in line at 2:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon. He would wait until 10 a.m. the next morning to get a free wristband that would allow him to get into the draft that started at 3 p.m. At it’s peak, the line for tickets stretched three long city blocks and included an estimated 2,500 people — some dressed and some painted in their team colors. All this for an event in which the NFL commissioner simply reads each team’s pick into a microphone and walks off stage?
“To us, it’s like our Super Bowl,” said Walsh, a San Francisco 49ers fan. “To us it’s important.”

what time is it?? game time!!
woke up early so i could order game tickets at 10 a.m. friday july 17th but unfortunately they were all sold out except for single scattered tickets…so i shopped around for tickets & finally found some!! now i just need to buy a plane ticket & i’m on my way!! still wish i could have made it to the steelers game though…i also wish i would have realized that the seats 3 row up from the 15-20 yrd line were only $16 more…oh well – there’s always next year!!
